What is a PBJ file?
PBJ files have multiple uses, and Pixel Bender Bytecode is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Pixel Bender Bytecode File
.PBJ files are files that contain bytecode for Pixel Bender, a programming language for image processing. This language was developed by Adobe Systems, which is no longer supported.
Pixel Bender bytecode is an optimized representation of the source code responsible for image processing algorithms. Its file size is typically smaller and it can be loaded and executed faster. PBJ bytecode is often used to produce filters and effects for applications such as Flash and Adobe After Effects.
Pixel Bender kernels are built-in components of applications, enabling them to execute bytecode compiled to run on GPUs, allowing for extremely fast image processing.
