A .NUMBERS file is a Numbers Spreadsheet file.
The Apple iWork Numbers spreadsheet application creates files containing the .numbers file extension. Apple iWork Numbers is a part of the iWork Productivity Suite, similar to the Microsoft Office Suite used on Windows PCs.
NUMBERS files are similar in nature to Microsoft Excel files, but the NUMBERS files are created in iWorks Numbers on Mac computers and not with the Microsoft Excel software on a Windows PC.
These files contain an entire spreadsheet, including settings, tables, graphs, pictures, formulas, etc.
