What are NUMBERS files and how to open them

What is a NUMBERS file?
A .NUMBERS file is a Numbers Spreadsheet file.
The Apple iWork Numbers spreadsheet application creates files containing the .numbers file extension. Apple iWork Numbers is a part of the iWork Productivity Suite, similar to the Microsoft Office Suite used on Windows PCs.
NUMBERS files are similar in nature to Microsoft Excel files, but the NUMBERS files are created in iWorks Numbers on Mac computers and not with the Microsoft Excel software on a Windows PC.
These files contain an entire spreadsheet, including settings, tables, graphs, pictures, formulas, etc.
How to open NUMBERS files
Important: Different programs may use files with the NUMBERS file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your NUMBERS file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
