MYDOCS File

What are MYDOCS files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a MYDOCS file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your MYDOCS files.

What is a MYDOCS file?

Files that contain the .mydocs file extension are most commonly used by the Windows operating system. When a user enables the "Send To: My Documents" feature in the Windows environment by right-clicking on a file or folder on the Windows desktop, the MYDOCS file allows the associated file or folder to be sent to the user's "My Documents" folder.

In some cases a user's MYDOCS file may be missing. If this happens the user will not be able to use the "Send To" feature as described above until the file is replaced. This can be done by opening a blank text file and saving the file as "My Documents.mydocs" in the "C:\Documents and Settings{username}\SendTo\" folder.

How to open MYDOCS files

Important: Different programs may use files with the MYDOCS file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your MYDOCS file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

We have not yet verified any programs for Windows that work with this specific file format. If you know one, please use the 'Suggest a program' link below. Thanks!
