What is a MBP file?
A .MBP file is a Mobipocket eBook Auxiliary Data file.
The .mbp file extension is used for an ebook auxiliary file format that was developed by MobiPocket and later acquired by Amazon. These MBP files are also called MobiPocket ebook auxiliary files, and these are known to contain additional user and ebook details associated to the main ebook file.
The main ebook files are stored in the PRC format, which was also created by MobiPocket. The MobiPocket Reader desktop software uses these MBP files whenever associated PRC ebooks with additional user and ebook-related details are opened by the user.
Additional user and ebook-related details that may be stored in these .mbp files are annotations, date and time stamps, author information, metadata details, etc.
