What is a LRTEMPLATE file?
A .LRTEMPLATE file is an Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Template file.
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Template (.lrtemplate) files store develop presets used by Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for applying consistent image edits quickly. These presets let users save adjustment settings - such as those for exposure, contrast, color balance, tone curve, HSL (hue, saturation, luminance), sharpening, noise reduction, lens corrections, and similar photo-develop edits - and apply them with one click to match styles across photos. When Lightroom Classic or Lightroom versions that support them are used, .lrtemplate files enable reuse and sharing of customized artistic effects.
These files are created by Lightroom when a user saves current develop-module settings as a preset or when the user exports a print layout or contact-sheet template in the Print module. Lightroom reads .lrtemplate files when applying presets or templates, and newer versions of Lightroom Classic automatically convert them into the newer .xmp preset format.
Technically .lrtemplate files are plain-text files using Lua table syntax. They begin with the characters s = { at byte offset zero and include identifiable fields like INTERNALNAME, VERSION, TITLE, TYPE, and a nested settings section.
