What is a JPG~ORIGINAL file?

The .jpg~original file extension is used for an image file format that is associated with the more standard JPG digital bitmap graphics format. These JPG~ORIGINAL files are usually generated by certain digital photo editing and graphics design applications. A .jpg~original file contains the unedited digital bitmap graphics content of a JPG file that has been changed using an image editing tool with support for the JPG~ORIGINAL file format. These JPG~ORIGINAL files are normally stored in the same directory where the edited JPG file has been saved. Some digital photo editing and graphics authoring programs store these .jpg~original files in a temporary sub directory under the main application directory of the program.Aside from using the program that created the .jpg~original files, the XnView software for Windows PCs can be used to open and view the digital bitmap graphics content of these JPG~ORIGINAL images. Changing the .jpg~original extension of these files to .jpg may also work.
