What are IWA files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening an IWA file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your IWA files.
What is an IWA file?
The .iwa file extension is mostly linked with iOS- specific applications like Pages, Keynote and Numbers applications. These applications are part of iWork office suite for Mac OS X and Apple iOS operating systems. iWork Office Suite for iOS systems is like Microsoft Office for the MS Windows operating system. Now popularly known as Apple Productivity Apps, iWork is an office suite of applications created by Apple Inc. for its OS X and iOS operating systems, and also available cross-platform through the iCloud website.
The .iwa file stores data/ information that define the iWork documents, like style settings for sheets, tables and other metadata. The .iwa files are normally stored in 'Index.zip' file. Documents with .iwa file format can be transported through iCloud and can be effectively used when the user is having them in cloud- based websites. IWA also simplifies the reading and editing process of iWork documents on iOS devices by allowing it to run on processors that has minimized RAM usage. IWA format uses Snappy compression format, replacing Index.xml file that stores the same content.
