What is an IMG3 file?

iOS Encrypted Container File
These container files store encrypted images and are commonly used for iPhone and iPod devices. IMG3 files were sometimes used to "jailbreak" an iPhone.
The IMG3 file format was introduced in iOS 2.0 and created to replace the older IMG2 file format.
How to open IMG3 files
Important: Different programs may use files with the IMG3 file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your IMG3 file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
