ICM File

What are ICM files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening an ICM file or just wondering what they contain? We explain what these files are used for and show you software that we know can open or otherwise handle your files.

What is an ICM file?

ICM is an acronym for Image Color Matching. Files that contain the .icm file extension usually hold the color settings for a specific software application or computer device.

Printers, monitors and scanners are devices that often use files with the .icm file extension. These ICM files allow multiple software applications, computer devices and even different computers to use the same color settings so that there is continuity between the way the colors are displayed when the file is opened and printed.

Some of the software applications that make use of the ICM file extension include CorelDRAW, the Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer, Adobe Photoshop and Cerious ThumbsPlus.

How to open ICM files

Important: Different programs may use files with the ICM file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your ICM file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

While we have not verified the app ourselves yet, our users have suggested a single ICM opener which you will find listed below.
