HHB File
What are HHB files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a HHB file or just wondering what they contain? We explain what these files are used for and show you software that we know can open or otherwise handle your files.
What is a HHB file?
A .HHB file is a LigPlot Hydrogen-Bonds Data file.
These files contain information about hydrogen bonds in a molecule or chemical compound. LigPlot is a software tool developed by the Molecular Graphics Laboratory at the University of Cambridge for visualizing and analyzing the 3D structure of molecules.
Hydrogen bonds are chemical bonds between two atoms, typically a hydrogen atom and an atom of a highly electronegative element such as nitrogen, oxygen, or fluorine. These bonds are relatively weak compared to covalent bonds, but they are essential in determining molecules' three-dimensional structure and properties.
LigPlot is used to visualize and analyze the hydrogen bonds in a molecule, and the .hhb file format is used to store the data generated by the software. This data includes information about the atoms involved in the hydrogen bonds and the bond lengths and angles.
