What are GL files and how to open them

What is a GL file?

GL files have multiple uses, and Amiga GL is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

How to open GL files

Important: Different programs may use files with the GL file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your GL file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

While Amiga GL is a popular type of GL-file, we know of 2 different uses of the .GL file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.

GRASP Animation

We know that one GL format is GRASP Animation. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
