Opening GGB files

Did your computer fail to open a GGB file? We explain what GGB files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your GGB files.

What is a GGB file?

The .ggb file extension is used for a data file format that was developed by the GeoGebra Team for one of their software products. Known as GeoGebra document files, the GGB file format is used for the default document output file of the GeoGebra software, which was also created by the GeoGebra Team. This software is an educational application that was designed for Windows PCs.

These GGB files contain mathematical formulas, equations, statistics and text that have been entered and saved in the GeoGebra software. These .ggb files may also store metadata details like project properties, file creation information and so on. A GGB file may also contain content formatting attributes and multimedia objects like graphs.

Only the GeoGebra software can be used to open and edit the content of a .ggb file. This software can also be used to create these GGB documents.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
