What is a GDS file?

A .GDS file is a GDSII stream format layout file. Through our analysis of GDS files, we know that one use of the format is GDSII stream format layout . Suggest another file format using extension GDS

While we know of one file format using the .GDS file extension, there may be more. It is widespread that different programs use files with the same file extension for very different types of data. Please let us know if you are aware of a different kind of .GDS file.
