What is a GBI file?
Files that contain the .gbi file extension are most commonly associated with the gBurner Systems' gBurner backup software. The gBurner software application allows users to create backup copies of their CDs and DVDs, creating multi-session discs and bootable data backup copies that they can use in the event that the original discs become lost or damaged.
The GBI file format allows for file compression, password protection, the encryption of file data, file archive splitting and checksum support abilities. This provides more versatility than many of the other backup file formats, which makes the GBI file format popular among computer users.
How to open GBI files
Important: Different programs may use files with the GBI file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your GBI file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
