Opening GBA files

Did your computer fail to open a GBA file? We explain what GBA files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your GBA files.

What is a GBA file?

The .gba file extension is usually given to files that contain a ROM image of a game that is played on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance portable video game system.

The Game Boy Advance system is a hand-held video game device that is distributed by Nintendo. GBA files include an exact duplicate of the actual Nintendo Game Boy game found on the game cartridge distributed by the game manufacturer.

The GBA file takes the file that is on the game cartridge and stores it in a software format. The game can then be played on a user's computer using a Game Boy emulation software.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
