What is a FW file?
The .fw file extension is most commonly associated with firmware update files. The FW files store the firmware update data that is used to update the firmware of an associated hardware device. Camcorders, digital cameras and other media devices often use the FW file format. These update files can be transferred to the proper device using a USB connection or a memory card.
The .fw file extension is also used for FrameWork database files.
How to open FW files
Important: Different programs may use files with the FW file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your FW file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
