Did your computer fail to open an EP file? We explain what they are used for and recommend software that we know can open or otherwise handle your .EP files.
What is an EP file?
An .EP file is an EasyPlot save file. These EP files contain the graphs created in EasyPlot, a scientific graph plotting software. You work directly with the graphs and can edit or modify them by moving the graph, changing the values itself, or import it from a spreadsheet, word processor, or a database. The EP files make use of ASCII (a character encoding standard for digital communications) as native data format. We have not yet verified any programs for Windows that work with this specific file format. If you know one, please use the 'Suggest a program' link below. Thanks!
What else are .EP files used for?
While EasyPlot save file is a popular type of EP-file, we know of 2 different uses of the .EP extension.
The EP file extension indicates to your device which app can open the file. However, different apps may use the same file extension for different types of data. So an EP opener may not be able to open all kinds of EP files. In this case, look through both formats to make sure you find the best suited EP viewer.
Through our analysis of EP files, we know that one use of the format is Pencil sketch. We have not yet described in detail what these files contain and what they are used for, but our team is working tiredlessly through thousands of file formats. We'd love hearing from you if you have information about the format.
Various EP file openers, viewers, etc.
These apps are known to open certain types of EP files. Remember, different programs may use EP files for different purposes, so you may need to try out a few of them to be able to open your specific file.
