Did your computer fail to open an EGT file? We explain what they are used for and recommend software that we know can open or otherwise handle your .EGT files.
What is an EGT file?
The .egt file extension is used for a temporary file type that is associated with the EagleGet software. EGT files represent incomplete or paused downloads that are initiated through the use of the EagleGet program. EGT file is specifically designed for this application so it can resume paused or incomplete downloads.
The EGT file format was created for the EagleGet software to be able to download large files without issues. The EagleGet program is a download accelerator that was developed for MS Windows PCs. This application is used to improve the speed and efficiency of downloads by up to 6 times the average. The EagleGet extension can also be integrated into widely used Web browsers.
EGT files are created by the EagleGet software whenever a user pauses a file download or when a file download has been abruptly stopped due to some technical issues. Opening the .egt file using the EagleGet program resumes the associated file download, allowing the file download to continue where it stopped. Upon completion, an EGT file associated with the file download is automatically deleted. Only the completed file download can be seen in the EagleGet software and in the directory of the completed file stored by the EagleGet program.
