ECF File - opening and understanding

What is an ECF file?
Files that contain the .ecf file extension are most commonly associated with the Microsoft Outlook email and calendar software application.
The ECF files that are used with the Microsoft Outlook software contain add-ins that allow users to install extra features into the Outlook application. The add-in files can be managed using the Add-In Manager that is found in the "Advanced Options feature in the Outlook program.
The Microsoft Exchange Server also uses the .ecf file suffix. These ECF files contain exchange extended configuration files, which are the configuration files that are used to configure the Microsoft Exchange software program.
How to open ECF files
You will need a program compatible with the specific file you are trying to open, as different programs may use files with file extension ECF for different purposes.
