What are DTHUMB files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a DTHUMB file or just wondering what they contain? We explain what these files are used for and show you software that we know can open or otherwise handle your files.
What is a DTHUMB file?
The DTHUMB file format is used to store code of a PHP script that serves as a simple image listing application for directories. A .dthumb file creates an index.html in the same directory where it's stored. This index.html contains a list of the images in the same directory where the .dthumb file is found.Other pieces of information like metadata details, directory locations, file sizes and formats of the images may also be included in this index.html file. This depends on how the code in the .dthumb file was created. These DTHUMB files are usually found in mobile devices like tablets and smartphones that run on the Android OS. The PHP code that's stored in a .dthumb file may be viewed and edited through the use of a text editing program like Notepad or Apple TextEdit among many others. If you don't have PHP coding knowledge and experience, then it's best to leave these DTHUMB files alone.
