What is a DRV file?
Files that contain the .drv file extension are driver files that are used by the Windows operating system. These files define the parameters that dictate how a device communicates with the user's operating system.
DRV files are commonly used to install device drivers onto a user's computer. Device drivers normally communicate with an external computer device via the computer bus or communications subsystem.
Common devices that use the .drv file extension include sound cards, graphic cards, network adapters, printers, storage devices and other computer hardware accessories.
DRV files are commonly packaged as dynamic link libraries (or DLL files) or EXE files.
