DOWNLOADING File
What are DOWNLOADING files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a DOWNLOADING file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your DOWNLOADING files.
What is a DOWNLOADING file?
The .downloading file format was created by Pando Networks, Inc. as a data file format for their file sharing software. Popularly known as Pando, this file sharing tool was designed for Microsoft Windows and serves as a P2P (peer to peer) client data sharing program. These DOWNLOADING files contain incomplete data that is currently being downloaded to the user's computer by the Pando software from the P2P network. As soon as the data has been completely downloaded to the user's computer, Pando will rename the .downloading extension of the file to its original file format. For example, if an MP3 file is being downloaded from the P2P network by the Pando software, then the incomplete download file will have the .downloading extension. When the download completes, the file will have its original .mp3 extension. Also used as temporary data files by the Pando software, these .downloading files do not contain any human readable data that can be used for purposes other than the internal application functions of this P2P tool. This means it's best to leave these DOWNLOADING files alone, in order to ensure that the download is completed without issues by the Pando P2P program.
