What is a DLT file?
A .DLT file is a DELTA Binary Dataset file.
.dlt files are binary dataset files used in the DELTA system. DELTA is an acronym for DEscription Language for TAxonomy and is a flexible method of recording taxonomic descriptions for computer processing. It was adopted as a standard for data exchange by Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG).
A dataset is a collection of data used in a certain program, the DELTA system for this instance, describing information related to botany and taxonomy.
