What are DIM files and how to open them

What is a DIM file?
DIM files have multiple uses, and Adobe Dimensions Geometry Data is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Adobe Dimensions Geometry Data
.dim files are the geometric data files created using Adobe Dimensions. Graphic designers use Adobe Dimensions to make realistic 3D geometric images for things like products, abstract art, illustrations, packaging designs, and scene visualizations.
How to open DIM files
Important: Different programs may use files with the DIM file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your DIM file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested five different DIM openers which you will find listed below.

All known file formats using extension .DIM
While Adobe Dimensions Geometry Data is a popular type of DIM-file, we know of 4 different uses of the .DIM file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
Disk Image Archiver Disk Image
Disk image files ending in .dim are created with Disk Image Archiver. Disk Image Archiver is software used to store images from discs like CDs and DVDs. An image is a copy of the contents of a specific media, created for the purpose of backup and restoration later on.
FastCopy DIM Disk Image
.dim files are disk image files created using FastCopy. FastCopy is a computer application that creates disk images of files from a medium like a CD or DVD.
Disk image files contain the same content copied from the medium. These .dim files are used as backup files and can be restored in the future.
X68000 Disk Image
We know that one DIM format is X68000 Disk Image. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
