DEVELOPERPROFILE File
What are DEVELOPERPROFILE files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a DEVELOPERPROFILE file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your DEVELOPERPROFILE files.
What is a DEVELOPERPROFILE file?
A .DEVELOPERPROFILE file is an Xcode Developer Pro file.
Xcode's Developer Profile is a file format used by the Xcode IDE for archiving and transferring signing credentials and provisioning profiles belonging to an Apple developer account. It is created when a developer exports the account's signing certificates and provisioning profiles from Xcode's Accounts preferences; that bundle is encrypted and password-protected so the private keys inside are secure.
When the developer profile is imported on another Mac via Xcode, it restores all of the account's signing certificates, private keys, provisioning profiles, and related metadata so that code signing and provisioning can continue without manual re-setup.
The file is actually a zip archive (with Xcode's own internal directory structure) under the name developerprofile. Within it are folders such as "developer/accounts.keychain", "developer/accounts.plist", "developer/identities" (holding .p12 files encrypted under the chosen password), and "developer/profiles" (holding provisioning profiles with .mobileprovision files).
