What are DEPLOYPROJ files and how to open them

What is a DEPLOYPROJ file?

A .DEPLOYPROJ file is a Deployment Manager Configuration file.

Deployment Manager Configuration files are XML settings files created by the RAD Studio IDE (Delphi, C++Builder) when a project is set up for deployment. They capture which files will be deployed across target platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, etc.), and they store configuration and path details so that the IDE's Deployment Manager can remember those settings between editing sessions.

These configuration files are generated automatically when the developer uses the Deployment Manager in the IDE (for example by selecting Project → Deployment → Deploy). They share the project's base name and are stored in the same folder as the project's source files. When opened later, they allow RAD Studio both to restore deployment selections (which files to include, which platforms, remote names and paths) and to update the configuration when files are added, removed, or platforms changed.

Internally, these files use the MSBuild XML schema. They include import statements for CodeGear targets (such as CodeGear.Deployment.Targets), item groups and conditions for platform- or configuration-specific deployment settings, property groups defining build configurations, and deployment actions including remote and local commands. The signature bytes often include an optional UTF-8 Byte Order Mark at the very beginning, and identifiable content includes tags or values like PROJECTFILEVERSION, IMPORT, ITEMGROUP CONDITION, and strings such as $(PLATFORM), $(CONFIG), INFO.PLIST, REMOTENAME, DEBUG, WIN32, IOS, etc.

How to open DEPLOYPROJ files
