What are CVG files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a CVG file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your CVG files.
What is a CVG file?
A .CVG file is a Calamus Vector Graphic file.
Calamus Vector Graphic files hold scalable vector artwork used in the Calamus desktop publishing system. These graphics consist of paths, lines, curves, vector text and shapes, which can be resized without loss of quality and integrated into page layouts for printing or publication. They are created by Calamus SL and the original Calamus software.
These files are written and read by Calamus SL (and earlier versions of Calamus), serving as a native format for saving vector graphic elements either standalone or embedded in documents. They can export and import other vector formats via modules, and Calamus provides full editing of elements such as vector frames, masks, control curves and paths.
Files of this kind begin with the ASCII signature CALAMUSCVG at offset zero.
