CTI File

What are CTI files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a CTI file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your CTI files.

What is a CTI file?

A .CTI file is a Bitz And Pixels XML Report Template Info For Collectorz.com Products file.

Bitz And Pixels XML Report Template Info For Collectorz.com Products files store metadata used by Collectorz.com software to manage and present report and export "templates." These files describe how templates appear inside Collectorz.com applications (like Music Collector, Book Collector, Movie Collector), helping the software know which templates are available and where to use them. They allow new or custom styles for viewing, printing or exporting collection data (e.g. HTML exports) to be discovered and listed.

Files are written by Collectorz.com programs (vendor Bitz & Pixelz BV) and are stored alongside related template files (XSL, CSS) inside a "Templates" folder. When the application launches or when templates are changed, it reads these template info files to populate user interface lists of templates. Template types include view (detail view display), print, exportindex (HTML index pages), and exportdetails (HTML detail pages). Also specified is the item_type (e.g. albums, tracks, books), filename of the template file, whether the template supports images or thumbnails, and a description shown to the user.

Each file uses XML syntax, with a root element <template_info> (or similarly named), and contains fields such as PRODUCT, DESCRIPTION, FILENAME, TEMPLATE_TYPE, ITEM_TYPE, SUPPORTS_THUMBNAILS, SUPPORTS_IMAGES. The file begins with the ASCII bytes "<template_info>" at offset zero. Internal keywords include TEMPLATE_INFO, DESCRIPTION, ITEM_TYPE, FILENAME, PRODUCT, MOVIE among others.
