CC3 File

What are CC3 files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a CC3 file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your CC3 files.

What is a CC3 file?

A .CC3 file is a Calendar Creator Plus Project file.

Calendar Creator Plus Project (.CC3) is a file used by Calendar Creator version 4.0 from Spinnaker Software to store a calendar project. It holds all the layout settings, event lists, calendar design elements like text styles, themes, and clip art, so you can continue editing your calendar using the same custom look and content later.

This format is written by Calendar Creator when you save a project you started or edited. When reopened in the same program, it restores the calendar exactly as you last saw it, including sample calendars, layout files, style settings, and any events or holidays you added. It is not intended primarily for exchanging calendar data with other software - that job is done via export to CSV or similar formats. Microsoft Outlook, for example, cannot open a CC3 file directly and requires the calendar file to be exported first as CSV.

At the start, this file format begins with a compound file binary header signature D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1, which identifies it as a Microsoft structured storage file. Within it are identifiable strings such as "CALENDAR CREATOR 4.0", "CURRENT_CALENDAR", "CCLAYOUT", "PROGRAM FILES", and "SOFTKEY" that correspond to its version and internal sections.
