What are C2B files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a C2B file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your C2B files.

What is a C2B file?

A .C2B file is a Casio ClassMate II Animation file.

Casio ClassMate II Animation files store an animated graphic sequence used by the ClassPad II calculators, most commonly as backgrounds for mathematics plotting. Created by Casio, these files hold a series of still images that play in succession to form an animation inside the Picture Plot application. They allow functions, curves, or scatter plots to be overlaid on top of that moving background.

These files are produced by Casio calculators in the ClassPad II product line. When used in the calculator, an animation file is opened via the Picture Plot application and displayed as a background scene. Users can plot points against each frame, edit plotted data, overlay graphs of expressions, and adjust settings such as lightness or playback (auto or manual). The animation advances frame-by-frame during plotting operations or when played back using commands in the File menu.

The files begin with a specific byte signature (starting at offset 0) and contain internal ASCII headers identifying them as animation files. For example, there is a signature at the start of the file and embedded strings such as "CC0100COLORCP" and "PGTIME" used within the format's metadata.
