A .BRSAR file is a Wii BRSAR Audio Package file.

The Wii BRSAR Audio Package is a container format used in Nintendo Wii games to hold the game's audio assets: music, background tracks, sound effects and sample banks. Game developers build these files during development; the Wii game engine then reads them during playback to organize and stream sounds in-game. Mod tools like BrawlBox can also extract, modify, or repack BRSAR files.

Inside a BRSAR file are subsections that store metadata, naming, and structural info (like symbol tables and hierarchical trees for sounds, banks and groups), plus raw or streamed audio formats. The file often references separate sound-bank data (e.g. BRBNK), sequence data (BRSEQ), and audio streams (often in .BRSTM format) that are played or sequenced during gameplay.

The file begins with the ASCII magic signature RSAR at byte offset 0; at offset 64 it has SYMB in ASCII, and somewhere in the content it includes the string WAVE. These help tools and the game detect the format.
