AVJ File
What are AVJ files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening an AVJ file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your AVJ files.
What is an AVJ file?
An .AVJ file is an AntiVir Job file.
AntiVir Job files store task configuration settings used by Avira's antivirus software for Windows. They represent individual scheduled jobs - for example, automatic scans or software updates - that a user defines in Avira's Scheduler. Such a job includes settings such as when it starts, if and how often it repeats, what profile it uses, whether it shows a notification, and whether it is enabled. Each job created through the Scheduler feature becomes one of these files.
These files are produced by Avira products as part of its task scheduling system. They are not meant for manual creation outside of Avira's interface. A job file is stored in plain text and is read by Avira when determining which tasks to run, at what times, and with which properties. Users can view or adjust job settings within Avira under Administration → Scheduler, and the corresponding file will reflect those changes.
Every file begins with a specific byte signature near its start, including a repeating pattern of bytes followed by human-readable ASCII text that identifies it as an Avira Scheduler log or config. Keywords such as Name, Description, DaysofWeek, JobType, Visible, NextStartTime, and LastError appear in the file. These allow Avira to parse individual aspects of the job configuration.
