ANBM File
What are ANBM files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening an ANBM file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your ANBM files.
What is an ANBM file?
An .ANBM file is an IFF ANimated BitMap file.
IFF ANimated BitMap files store simple animations as a sequence of bitmaps of the same dimensions and color depth, intended for use by the DeluxeVideo software on Commodore Amiga. The format is used for objects and backgrounds created in DeluxePaint; small images (objects, brushes) and full-screen bitmaps may be combined so that objects can move or appear over a static background in video sequences. Support for animation timing and frame ordering is included via a chunk that defines sequence rules and playback intervals.
These files are written by DeluxeVideo (also known as DVideo) and are read or played back by the same tool, or any software that supports the ANBM IFF format. Frames are stored as standard ILBM bitmap sub-forms inside the ANBM container; the playback sequence controls which frame appears when and can loop or reverse the order.
Files begin with the IFF FORM identifier "Form", followed at offset 8 by "ANBM" to mark the animated bitmap form.
