What are ADV files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening an ADV file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your ADV files.

What is an ADV file?

ADV files have multiple uses, and Advantage spreadsheet is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

Advantage spreadsheet

These ADV files contain spreadsheets created in LoGisTix, a spreadsheet application used on the Amiga home computer. You could handle SQL databases, and it had query internal language such as BASIC before Microsoft Access existed. You could also create forms and handle multimedia files.

How to open ADV files

Important: Different programs may use files with the ADV file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your ADV file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

While Advantage spreadsheet is a popular type of ADV-file, we know of 4 different uses of the .ADV file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.

Gold Disk Office Calc/Graph spreadsheet

These ADV files contain the spreadsheets created in Office Calc or Office Graph. Office Calc has a high computing speed, simple operation, and full Lotus 1-2-3 compatibility. Office Graph evaluates a dry series of numbers and prepares them visually. Gold Disk developed software that contains business management tools like word processing, file management, spreadsheets, and business graph software. This tool is known as Amiga Office.

Miles Sound System Real Mode Drivers

We know that one ADV format is Miles Sound System Real Mode Drivers. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.

WordPerfect Dictionary Advise

We know that one ADV format is WordPerfect Dictionary Advise. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
