What are ACELIVE files and how to open them

What is an ACELIVE file?

An .ACELIVE file is an Ace Stream Transport file.

Ace Stream Transport files with the .acelive extension are metadata files used by the Ace Stream Engine to identify and distribute live broadcasts and HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) content over its peer-to-peer network. These files act as pointers: they do not contain the video or audio itself but describe how clients should obtain and stream the content via Ace Stream. They're created when a broadcast source is launched with Ace Stream using commands like --stream-source or via the --create-hls-transport option.

When used, .acelive files are published to clients so they can access the broadcast. The engine embeds in them metadata such as the title, content source (e.g. HLS manifest URL or MPEG-TS stream), bitrate, and sometimes authorized peer or node information. In HLS mode there are public transport files that include the manifest URL, and optionally private transport files without the manifest URL for use by support nodes. These support nodes help scale availability and bandwidth distribution.

Technical signature: the first bytes (at offset zero) begin with ASCII header "AceStreamTransport", which serves as an internal identifier for the file.

How to open ACELIVE files

Important: Different programs may use files with the ACELIVE file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your ACELIVE file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
