What are XLTX files and how to open them

What is an XLTX file?

The .xltx file extension is most commonly used by the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet application. The XLTX files contain template files that have been created with the Excel software. These files contain default settings and layout information, allowing a user to create multiple spreadsheets with the same layout and formatting without creating each spreadsheet from scratch. The XLTX file format is used by versions of Excel 2007 and later and use zip compression technology to save a user's disk space.

How to open XLTX files
