Are you having problems opening a RDP file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your RDP files.

What is a RDP file?

A .RDP file is a Windows Remote Desktop Connection Settings file.

These .rdp files are used by the Remote Desktop Connection service in Microsoft Windows PCs, which allows users to remotely connect to their Windows PCs through terminal servers. They contain settings and configuration options that have been saved by the user through options provided by the program interface of the Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Connection service.

The files are automatically updated when a user saves changes to the settings and configurations of the Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Connection service.
