Opening B files

Did your computer fail to open a B file? We explain what B files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your B files.

What is a B file?

Files that contain the .b file extension are programming files that contain BASIC source code. BASIC stands for Beginner's All-Purpose Symbolic Instructions Code. The BASIC programming language was developed in the 1960s. While the programming language was initially developed for students who needed to write computer programs, it is now widely used as a common programming language.

A variety of computer applications can create BASIC files with the .b file extension including Modula-3, IRIS and Limbo software programs.

The .b file extension is also used to identify batch list files that have been created for the Applause computer software. Applause is a custom database software creation application.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
