What is Zandronum?

Zandronum is a multiplayer port. It is based off Skulltag for both Doom games, produced by ID Software. Zandronum delivers the classic game of Doom into the 21st century, while keeping the spirit of what has made the game a classic for many decades. Simultaneously new features have been added to give it a modern twist, offering the game a fresh and fun experience. Its online play lets users switch between the games easily. It supports up to 64 players. There is a broad array of gameplay modes, including cooperative mode, and competitive mode. It has modifiers, such as Buckshot and Instagib, to give the game some spice.

This game contains support for a number of GZDoom and ZDoom mods. Users can pick between GZDoom’s OpenGL renderer, or Doom Software’s renderer. It consists of other useful features like consoles, Quake-style key bindings, jumping, and freelooking. Zandronum has support for Doom engine-based games, such as Strife, Heretic, and Hexen. It also supports the modern versions of Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X. New weapons are also included in the game for modders.
