Xming
If you are looking for Xming, you have come to the right place. We explain what Xming is and point you to the official download.
What is Xming?
The Xming software was created for the implementation of the X Windows System for various Microsoft operating systems. This software provides a set of X fonts, tools and applications for the X Windows System display server. Because the Xming itself runs on Windows, there is no need to install or access the Windows registry or any third-party software. This software is generally based on the x.Org Server. It may also be used in Linux through the MinGW compiler suite and the Pthreads-Win32 multi-threading library.
A Secure Shell or SSH may be used to forward x11 sessions from other computers securely together with the Xming software. It also supports various programs such as the ssh.exe and the PuTTY and its plink.exe. This software has been made compatible to different operating systems and servers such as Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012/2008/2003, respectively.
The Xming software also allows the X11 to extent its Network Transparency to the Microsoft Desktop. This software also allows the user to use his/her computer to remote control other computers running on Unix or Linux as a thin client terminal.
