What is Xara Xtreme?

Xara Xtreme is a graphics and illustration software developed by the Xara Group Limited, a subsidiary of MAGIX AG. The software functions as a vector graphics editor, where users are enabled to apply a range of effects on their images like transparencies and shadows, bevels, and gradients.

Users can apply effects via the drag and drop mode, where they can specify the area of the photo to be edited, and then drag and drop the effect tool onto the specified area. Photos to be edited can likewise be dragged from their source folder and dropped onto the editing window.

Any form of manipulation applied on the photo can be manually undone by the user. The software allows for limitless undo and re-do tasks.

In addition to photo editing, the program also provides the user with an application for designing page layouts. Text editing tools are integrated into the page layout editor, providing the user with various text styles, a spell check tool, multiple page display, and multiple column flow. The drag and drop mode is likewise enabled in this application, allowing users to drag and drop images and other objects onto the page layout project.

Xara Xtreme comes in a version for Windows and another for Linux.
