WinTV7

If you are looking for WinTV7, you have come to the right place. We explain what WinTV7 is and point you to the official download.

What is WinTV7?

WinTV7 is a software program that installs a TV tuner and media player on the computer. The software is from Hauppauge Computer Works, Inc. The player will scan the Internet for DVB-T channels which will then be included in the player’s database.

The user selects a specific channel from the list generated by the software and watch live TV straight from the computer. The player can also be used as a media player for watching videos from the Internet as well as videos stored on the computer.

It features parental control and digital closed captions for users based in North America. It also provides supports for HD TV and video on some selected machines. Users who wish to record a specific TV program even while away from the computer can do so through the TV recording scheduler included in the software. The player will automatically record the show based on the pre-set schedule determined by the user.

Under the Advanced Options tab which can be found on the player’s WinTV Settings window, the user can configure the player to automatically start live TV, enable 3rd party decoders or enable automatic conversion of MPEG-2 files to .mpg.
