If you are looking for Wimp, you have come to the right place. We explain what Wimp is and point you to the official download.

What is Wimp?

Wimp or WiMP is an application for streaming music from the WiMP library. This is a cross-platform application that is capable of running on Windows, Mac OS X, Android, iOS, Windows Mobile and MeeGo. WiMP is provided as a service on a subscription basis.

The service is provided by Norwegian company Aspiro Music AS, and allows the user to access music files from their library. Music is categorized by genre, artist and year to allow the user to easily find audio tracks they want to stream online. Streaming formats utilized by the service are HE-AAC (High Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding) in 96 Kbits/s and AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) in 320 Kbits/s.

Wimp is currently available in the following countries: Denmark, Germany, Norway, Poland and Sweden. For those whose country is not yet supported by the service, they are provided with the option to join the Wimp mailing list, so they can be informed once the service becomes available for their country.

Music provided by the service include oldies, current, and new releases; with some made available already through the service, but has not yet been released in the market.
