What is WIDI Recognition System Pro?
The WIDI Recognition System Pro version is a program that can be used for computer-assisted musical transcription. In other words, the program is capable of “listening to” a recording of a musical track and converts it into a musical score. As the professional edition of the software, it also packs the added utility called the “TrueTone Editor”. While the WIDI System is fairly good at transcribing notes, there may be occasions when some of its transcriptions are not precisely correct: the TrueTone Editor allows the user to correct transcriptions made by the program by opening a piano roll editing interface and layering the spectrogram data over the program’s notation. This lets the user better compare the transcription against the actual audio to detect areas for correction. He can then edit the score accordingly, deleting, replacing, or adding notes as needed.
WIDI has an inbuilt audio recorder as well as support for simultaneous MIDI and audio playback. The Windows version comes in several languages. The Recognition System can also play back and transcribe most audio file formats and is capable of real-time and pitch-selective recognition as well as tonal analysis.
