WebFerret

If you are looking for WebFerret, you have come to the right place. We explain what WebFerret is and point you to the official download.

What is WebFerret?

WebFerret is a search-results “ferreting” program, i.e. software that looks for search results online. While that may make it sound like a search engine, it is not actually a search engine in and of itself: rather, it has the capacity to leverage the power of multiple search engines in a single click. This makes it a useful tool for users who often perform online searches on multiple search engines. Traditionally, that would require them to open several windows or tabs with a different search engine on each window/tab. They would have to run the same search on all those search engines to get parallel and comparable results.

WebFerret simplifies this activity by making it possible to run searches on multiple engines for the same term and using the same search field—or toolbar, for those who choose to install the program’s toolbar option on their browsers. Users can customize which search engines get used, they can exclude certain engines from the process, they can add filters for profanity and other criteria, and they can activate a duplicate finder that will automatically remove duplicate results from the collated SERPs. There is also an option that allows the user to have the program validate the web page existence for each result.
