Vuze

If you are looking for Vuze, you have come to the right place. We explain what Vuze is and point you to the official download.

What is Vuze?

Vuze, which was previously and more popularly known as Azureus, is one of the most renowned and oldest torrent clients, and is the first torrent program to be written in Java. Criticized for its demanding system load and features that bloat the application without much use or relevance to the actual downloading and transfer of files via the BitTorrent protocol – such as the authoring and creation of high definition DVD and HD quality video content – it remained one of the driving forces of innovation in this field, and has consistently been awarded as one of the fastest torrent clients in existence, if the user’s computer can handle it. Vuze, then known as Azureus, first debuted in 2003 at SourceForge.net and its popularity skyrocketed since then.

One of the distinguishing features of the client is its Swarm View, which is exclusive to the program, where a graphical representation of the incoming and outgoing peers in an active torrent connection.  It supports the latest advances in torrent and peer to peer technology, but adds a little more flavor: for example, the user can browse for and download original (or licensed) content straight from the Azureus/Vuze network using the client, and chat among friends across the network.
