What is TestGen?
TestGen (Test Generator) is a software program from Tamarack Software that was developed to provide assistance to instructors and educators with their preparation of various tests for their students.
The program includes a wide selection of tests that instructors can readily use for creating their tests. These ready-made tests can be accessed from the Testbank Library. The Resource Library on the other hand, provides instructors with templates which can be used for creating additional tests questions and answers to different types of tests: Multiple Choice, Short Answer, Essay, and Matching.
Generally, the user interface is divided into two sections: on the left side is the pane where Testbank Library and Resource Library files are displayed; and the right-side window serves as the editing pane.
Instructors may also create their own tests, and simply utilize a blank template. They may also integrate questions from any of the tests included in the Testbank Library. For adding test questions from the Testbank Library or Resource Library, users may drag the question and crop it onto the editing pane where the test being created is currently open.
TestGen comes in a version for Windows (XP, Vista, and 7) and a version for Mac OS X (10.4 or higher).
