Stykz

If you are looking for Stykz, you have come to the right place. We explain what Stykz is and point you to the official download.

What is Stykz?

Developed and published by the company called Sons of Thunder Software, Stykz is recognized as the first ever animation program for stick figures. It is built on a multi-platform interface and is made available to be used using Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. It has three main functionalities - it allows you to conceptualize your stick animation, edit your work, and lastly, preview what you have done. The program is a freeware and can be obtained via download.

Stykz is also developed to be compatible with other animation tools and one of which is PivotStickFigure Animator. The set of basic functionalities are the same which therefore lets users grasp the tools more easily. The file formats for both software are the same. Stykz also supports .stk files which are extracted from other websites. When creating a project with this software, you can use the frames included in the templates and check what your project looks like using the Onionskin functionality. Once a frame is complete, you may create another one by clicking the ‘Next’ option. The other tools lets you manipulate the movement of the sticks as well as create a new environment for the animated figure.
