SmartSketch

If you are looking for SmartSketch, you have come to the right place. We explain what SmartSketch is and point you to the official download.

What is SmartSketch?

SmartSketch is a drafting program often used by professionals in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industries. The program is compatible with CAD applications and files, which it can translate, as well as with files created by Microsoft Office programs like Excel and Word. Thus, the program can incorporate accompanying text from an MS Word document or data from an Excel spreadsheet in its finished sketches or drafts for a richer diagram. The output is specifically 2D precision illustrations.

Since the program is designed not only for functionality, but also for efficiency, it sports some features that are clearly intended for reducing manual operations in the drafting process. For instance, it remembers and maintains relationships between geometric objects in drafts, essentially automating part of the editing process when designs are being revised or modified for variation. It also has smart symbols, which can be enabled to automate symbol behavior when placed in a draft, e.g. automated alignment or rotation to design elements.

The program is also customization-friendly, as it supports programs like Visual C++ and Borland’s Delphi. The program’s precision level is claimed to be .0001 of the specified unit.
