If you are looking for SlickEdit, you have come to the right place. We explain what SlickEdit is and point you to the official download.

What is SlickEdit?

SlickEdit is a multilingual, cross-platform code editor meant to be used by programmers and application developers. Some argue that it can be considered a full IDE by itself, however, based on its functionalities. Whatever the case, the platforms supported by the program are Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris x86 and SPARC, HP-UX and AIX. Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions are supported for Windows and Linux systems. The program also supports more than 40 programming languages, including PHP, C, Java, C++ and XML. Users can add support for other languages if desired. The tool’s own (main) language is called Slick-C.

The program allows users to customize their key bindings in order to make using the program feel more natural and intuitive and also has options for keystroke emulation of other editors. Code appearance can be customized as well if desired. Other features that come with the program are syntax highlighting, syntax expansion, and autocompletion performed in accordance with the language being used, which means the program autocompletes while matching the proper syntax to the situation. It also has a Regex tester, code templates, a tool for recording revisions as backup and more.
